Vertical Standards for Security Requirements

This project bridges a critical gap by uniting biometrics and security evaluation experts into a joint working group to develop international standards. Going beyond EU, it will help to create more incentives for biometric providers to deliver secure and resilient products, ensuring alignment with the CRA, other security frameworks, and fostering broader cybersecurity for the growing number of applications relying on biometrics.

What does the work you will carry out for the CYBERSTAND SSP consist of?

Contribute to ETSI TC Cyber Working Group for EUSR, in particular to contribute on security requirements for products used by both corporate world and end-consumer world for several of the vertical standards requests.

What is the expected result and impact of this activity?

To ensure the requirements included in the vertical standards to be developed take in account both essential security requirements and usability trade-offs, and by considering as well the need for inclusion and accessibility to ensure security is usable by all.

Which aspects of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) standardisation are you focusing on?

In particular the vertical standards requests for password managers and smart home related products.
