Title of proposal

Impact of Cyber Resilience Act in cordless standards - ETSI TC CYBER and TC DECT

CRA Standards

Horizontal standards for security requirements

Vertical standards for security requirements

What does the work you will carry out for the CYBERSTAND SSP consist of?

The main goal of the activity funded by cyberstand is studying the impact of the Cyber Resilience Act in cordless and industrial products developed by ETSI TC DECT. This includes not only residential cordless phones but also a broad range of new profesional and industrial products based on the new technologies DECT-evolution and DECT-2020. E.g. business audio devices, profesional audio products, utility meters and other devices for the smart grid, home automation and industry automation devices.

What is the expected result and impact of this activity?

The outcome of this study will be a pre-tandardization report and a proposal(s) of work item(s) to be further developed in ETSI.
The protection of voice and data privacy and integrity is a well defined target of the CRA. The limitations of security of current DECT cordless phones are well known. New products based on the new DECT-2020 standard and intended for data applications are in development phase. Currently there is no security study analysing the impact of CRA in these products

Which aspects of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) standardisation are you focusing on?

Implementation of the Cyber Resilience Act in cordless and industrial products developed by ETSI at the TC DECT
